From Mom:

well dropped my son off in Provo Utah today to go on his 2 year mission it was a very hard for me to let my baby go "he said mom you have raised me well i love you and thank you gave me a hug and kiss and said i will be fine so you can stop crying now (Jordan's goal was to have me cry each day so i would have no more tears left... wrong) i did pretty good on the drive back to Las Vegas only had a few crying spells he will grow even more into a great young man... but i cant wait for his first letter or email...

and another letter...

Saturday morning We left las Vegas at 8:50 am arriving in SLC UT on Saturday around 5:30 the first stop was the quilted bear for a quick shopping spree Jordan found a Utah stand so new sunglasses was the present he got himself then to shop for his best buddy's new baby a green baby bracelet and  very beautiful  hand crocheted pacifer holder was the pick. Then off to the Tritsch's home for a great dinner home made tomato soup cooked all day and pound cake with fresh raspberries and choc whipped cream topping it was so good. Then to  get ready for the rodeo well the rodeo was hailed out. I thought we where getting snow it hailed so much. So lots of visiting and getting ready for church on Sunday. It was a great day at church meeting lots of the Tritsch's friends in their ward. Then home to another great dinner grilled Asian pork and fried rice and stir fried veggies and the dessert tonight was layered choc pudding and crushed oreos and choc whipped cream it was awesome... then Jordan Sara and Jared played a game while Jackie and I visited.

Monday labor day  was a busy day  Jordan and mom spent the day visiting with all his family so we had great tamales at aunt Gloria Rae's house and looked at lots of pictures. Jordan was told stories of his family and heritage. Then after Jordan that wanted to go see his Grandma and Grandpa Torres' graves. Then after the visit to the graves everyone met up at Jackie and Dave Newbey's home for a great big BBQ with family and cousins. Then home to bed like a good missionaries do lights out at 1030.....

Tuesday morning was off to the SLC temple for a session then. To the hospital to see Aunt Ruthie who is having trouble with her foot not healing up Jordan gave his Aunt a blessing. Then to the book store for new scriptures. Then to a photo shoot with cousin Amy. Then home to dinner at Texas Road House Jordan's other favorite food steak and Jordan managed to make it out with 8 rolls one of his favorites as well. Then home to do laundry and hem his white pants lights out at 10:30 pm.

Wednesday we where up at 6:30 am to finish packing said good bye to the Tritsch family and off to meet up with his Aunites and cousins for his last requested meal before he entered the MTC Morellia's Mexican restaurant  he was surprised by his Great Aunt Ruth and Great Aunt Regina coming to join the fun... Aunt Gloria Rae and Uncle Manuel and cuz Matt and Andy and little cuz Kaylee Rae all joined in with Jordan and Mom.... Jordan got his fill of food. Burriotos chips and salsa  churros. He had his tamales (a bag full to take with him) in hand and was ready for the MTC.  Jordan was the pilot on the way down to Provo. Well lets just say he didn't make a very good pilot. We took the wrong exit making us at the end of Provo not the beginning of Provo so down main street Mom flew to make it at the MTC at 1:15 exactly.  A purple post it note was put on the car window showing that a new missionary was in the car for drop off and down the long road we drove with lots of missionaries with usher signs on there shirts greeting us on..... lots of waves hello and shouts of hello. This was so impressive to be welcomed in this fashion maybe is was to calm the nerves of us Moms ..... an Elder opened Jordan's door then it hit me my baby was leaving for 2 years. They opened the back door of the car to get his luggage out and a quick hug and kiss and i love you mom and a picture then away he wen. Jordan was on his was to serving the Lord for 2 years.

Mom drove back to Las Vegas calling his sister to calm her nerves. I'm so proud Jordan has chosen to serve the lord with his mission and I know he will  Return With Honor. We are all so proud of him. Thanks to all who showed us a great time while in SLC.
